Chihuly, the inspiring artist. When you think of glass-blowing art, do you think of it in a super cool way?
To be honest, I didn’t… Until I saw this blue shining creature hanging from the ceiling while walking around Mayfair.

I was like: “What on earth?”

They look like stuff I would dream of.

They look like stuff I would like to have in my own princess-garden.

The Halcyon Gallery has 2 floors and there are showing some of his paintings as well.

It’s free and here in London until Sat Apr 21 at 144-146 New Bond St, London, W1S 2PF. http://www.halcyongallery.com/
If you want to see mind-blowing beautiful flowers, a secret garden, a boat full of tropical treasures, all made through glass-blowing, then go see Chihuly’s work. It’s impossible to show you through photos or videos, how super-magically inspiring glass-blowing art looks like in real life…

2011 F/W FENDI HANRIVER FASHION SHOW.

I forgot all about the FENDI Fashion Show until it was too late, but then I realized that the show was going to be online anyways - LIVE! So, I couldn’t be bothered to be upset at all. .
I saw fur en masse, red stockings & long, glossy hair from my screen at home. Oh this internet-focused generation makes life so much easier!

I do have to admit one thing though: If I knew that one of my favourite actress was going to be sitting in the crowd: ZIYI ZHANG from Memoirs of a Geisha! I would have done everything to still get in. It’s annoying how they kept filming her (after the show), because it felt like they were telling me: “There you go, Nicole. You should have went to the show!

EVERYONE SEEMS TO BE ON A DIET RIGHT NOW.

I’ve barely heard sentences like “I’m on a diet”, “I HAVE to workout” or “I HAVE to be skinny” in Germany. If you’re on a diet, you do what you have to do. Besides, it is considered to be a personal issue, so you don’t really want everyone to know about your weight loss attempt(s).
Here in Korea it seems to be a different story. One of my cousins weighs just 46 kilos and she is 176 cm tall. Now, nobody ever tells her that she should eat more, they just compliment her and they love her so-called “v-line” (in short: a very pointy chin. Read more about it here by thegrandnarrative). I don’t think she’s anorexic or something. But I also don’t think it’s normal to eat 2-3 spoons of rice in the morning, thats it - then a small dinner.
Another cousin of mine is really chubby, like 90 kg at 172 cm(?) and something she has to hear every single day is: “you’re fat”, “lose weight”, “don’t eat that”.. EVERY single day. Oh! and by the way she is pregnant!

Nearly every magazine is featuring a “deadline diet”, “summer body diet”, “bootcamp diet” and my mailbox is being spammed by those types of mails. Even my Facebook newsfeed is filled with diet-related status-updates by friends who live in Korea.
I know it is a good thing to take care of your body and health.
But here I don’t believe they just want to look “healthy”..
It never got to the extent that I was irritated by it.Seriously, why is everyone so obsessed with their looks in Korea?
